The most northern western region of China boasts primeval pine and birch forests, snow mountain bordering 4 other countries, towns and villages without electricity but with the most genuine life style and hospitality. Alpine lake, quiet grassland, splendid sunrise and sunset is what accompany you for the week, and autumn is the golden time to capture the most beautiful of everything here with your camera – a chance only once a year!

Hemu County
Bordering Mongolia, Russia and Kazakhstan, stationed with the frontier defense troop. Hemu locates at the end of the valley. No telecommunication is available ( satellite phone is rarely seen), but some government offices have lights. There are hundreds of residents most of whom are Kazak and Mongolian.

Kanas
‘Kanas’ is a Mongolian word meaning ‘the lake in the cayon’. Kanas Lake is an alpine lake hidden in the deep forest of Altay. Locating in Burqin of Altay area, 150km from the county, it covers an area of 5,588 square km.
Its heavenly scenery consists of the surrounding snow capped mountain, dark green forest, colorful butterflies and blossoming wild flowers...

It is the only area in China that live south Siberia plants and animals such as precious species of larch, spruce, fir. The known numbers of species living here amount to 798 species of plants and over 200 species of animal, birds, fishes and insects, many of which you do not find in other parts of Xinjiang and even China. With is forests, pasture, lakes and rivers the colorful nature is of high value of tourism, scientific research, history and
culture.
